Pregnancy and podiatry : Avoid having sore feet during 9 months !

November 22, 2018

It is generally known from everyone that during pregnancy, women are likely to have nausea and heartburn.  Yet, future mothers often ignore that they are also subject to :

  • Ingrown nails, due to water retention ;
  • The diminution of the arch of the feet, caused by a hormone named « relaxin » ;
  • Plantar warts, since their immune system is more vulnerable ;
  • The accentuation of foot problems existing prior to pregnancy.

There are plenty of ways for pregnant women to deal with both small and large discomforts. Thanks to a personalized approach, a podiatrist may specifically guide you towards a variety of suitable footwear and suggest you to do stretching exercises at home. He will also give you tips to relieve edema during pregnancy which causes swelling of the feet and legs.

Hoping that you won’t suffer from sore feet during 9 months, we wish you a peaceful pregnancy
