When cycling, it may seem logical to think that you minimize the pressure on your feet since they don’t have to support your body weight. Although the impacts are less than when you are running, the position of the feet in the knee and leg alignment must not be overlooked. This is all the more important when the foot angulation is maintained by bindings under the cycling shoes.
In order to prevent injuries, optimize your comfort and performances and also maintain a good alignment of the lower limbs, early in the season, it is very important to verify your posture when cycling.
Since numbness in your feet may occur, we remind you the importance of verifying the width of your shoes and wear your plantar orthotics if you have to.
An examination by your podiatrist may be a good complement and even necessary. It is recommended in order to analyse your posture and the biomechanics of your feet, ankles, and prevent you from overworking your tendons, ligaments that can lead to joint pain.
