Our answer : about 2 years old.
The earlier you start the follow-up of your child’s feet, the better it will be to permanently rectify if needed, their biomechanical disorder. Several problems related to feet and child’s gait can be treated before the age of 3. In fact, the foot analysis of a child may lead to a podiatric intervention at a young age that will facilitate the prevention of chronic problems, while optimizing his growth.
Thus, as a preventive measure, we suggest you to make an appointment with a podiatrist when your child is around 2 years old.
Certain disorders can be hardly detected earlier. For example, during the very early years of their life, children have a significant amount of fat (adipose tissues) under the foot. This particularity can easily be confused with a flat foot. It is therefore preferable to wait around the age of 2 before coming to a conclusion.
A great day to small and large feet !
